MYSTERY SMELLS!

Hi followers!

We are 1st graders and we are studying senses. We had fun in our Science class when we were discovering the smell sense. Suddenly, it appeared a curiosity: How sensitive is your sense of smell? So we discovered it by doing an experiment!

Do you want to know what we have done in the experiment? We were blindfolded and we had to smell and recognize many things: vinegar, orange peel, lemon juice and coffee. It seemed easy but it wasn’t with the eyes covered, what a surprise!

Science lab

3rd ESO students have been making different solutions and have classified them. They use common substances like tap water, salt and oil. They can see homogeneous and heterogeneous mixtures easily. After that, they separate these substances using different physics processes (distillation, filtration, magnetism). They show us their abilities in the laboratory.

Does it change colour?

P3 little Young learners have been experimenting with water this term. One of the experiments they did was changing the colour of water.
-Do you think the water is going to change its colour? – Asked the teacher to the children before putting a piece of a coloured crêpe paper inside a cup of plastic water.
The first pupils’ impression was to say No, but after observing the crêpe paper mixing with water and changing its colour they changed their opinion.
The school younger learners were surprised and encouraged to try this experiment on their own. They had the water tainted in different colours and could appreciate what happened to the water.

REUSE, REDUCE AND RECYCLE

Hi followers! That’s our last enter.

Do you know our new project?

We have joined a supportive project promoted by the Asociación Proyectos Infantiles. The objective of that project is collecting clothes, shoes and electronics to transform it into dining service scholarship, in order to attend some of the needs that exist in our community.

For this reason, there is a container to make the collection in SAFA’s reception.  With that video, the Primary students encourage you to join the project by making a small gesture.

See you next year! We hope you have enjoyed reading and discovering the Science World with us.

Have a good summer!

Ecosystems

Hi readers!

Learning about ecosystems is fun if you use your imagination. 5th graders have designed their own ecosystems. First of all, they learned about every biome. They searched information about non-living things, animals and plants. With all the material, they created their own ecosystems in groups of four pupils.

If you want to discover how they did and some interesting facts about their works, don't forget to watch this video and write your comments.
